Make My Day
Today's my day.
As far as days go.
Every day is.
My day, that is.
More so today?
Some would like us to think so.
I didn't always get to celebrate today.
At least, not as the center of it.
But I have now for quite some time.
And here's the thing.
As for most holidays and "special occasions."
Every day is my birthday.
You ARE old.
Every day is Father's Day.
Every day is a holiday.
Special.
It just so happens that my loved ones find today a cause to celebrate.
And who am I to say no to a party?
Within reason.
Father is one of my favorite titles.
Might be the most, but I don't want the other titles to feel bad.
I have to do that now, as a father, you see.
No favorites.
All favorites.
Tied for first, certainly.
It's such an important title they made a stationary card day dedicated to honoring it.
Just like moms the month before.
Mamas come first.
As it should be.
And so, today's my day.
Has been for a while, now.
Just like every other day.
So very special.
Thank you.
Now, let's party!!!
Within reason.
Get down off that couch.
Got dang too loud.
Turn that lower.
You ok?
What was that?
Is that a bag of almond M&M's?
For me?
Re-sealable?
Woo-hoo!
My kinda party.
