Do Make Be
"I have a question for you...No.
I got something to say:
I'm going to do something with my life.
Yeah, man."
"Good!"
"Dude, I got these ideas - I got so many ideas burning through my skull, buddy."
Ever think about what it means to do something with your life?
To make something of yourself?
To be somebody?
What's that mean, anyways?
How does one measure it?
How do you?
I'm going to tell you something.
This idea of doing something with, making something of, and being somebody is a big part of iterating.
But not in the ways you might think.
You see, when most folks talk about do make be, it's usually tinted by the lens of others.
What's acceptable, time-honored, and all that bull sheet.
I'm here to tell you, I've done a lot of this the wrong way.
Be do make.
Have I done something with my life?
Made something of myself?
Do I be somebody?
Maybe not to you.
But I think so.
I think so.
And I believe that's all that matters.
What do you think?
Ah, do whatever you want (within reason).
Make it all up as you go along.
Works for me.
Be all that you can be (in the military or civilian).
What the heck else are you going to do with your time?
Read a friggin' blog musings column?
