Make That Change

🎵 Who's bad? 🎶

We live in this weird world, man.

A strange universe.

To quote Billy Shat:

"And I love it."

But here's the thing.

A lot of the "heroes" my history classes taught me about are now taught to today's kids as villains.

A lot of icons becomes crooks.

Nothing changes but our perspective.

Just with the passage of time.

But, like all things, there are exceptions to the rule.

That prove the rule.

Sometimes, a villain can become a hero again.

Take Michael Jackson.

If there ever is a person I'm glad is having a comeback (of sorts) it's Michael.

The first MJ.

The best MJ.

I'm a bit ashamed to say when I was younger, MJ was a butt of a lot of jokes.

But he's had this odd redemption story.

Although that's not entirely fair, because it implies he did something wrong in the first place.

Which now, it seems, he never did.

That he was always good.

Now, the suspicious side of me is thinking, hmm, all this good stuff about MJ is coming out just coincidentally alongside the release of his movie.

But let's ignore that.

Put that thought in a corner and point my finger at it.

Stay.

...

But weird timing, right?

...

And focus on the positive.

It's ok to like Mike again.

You ever hear his real voice?

Nevermind.

I am just happy that we don't just stomp on graves anymore.

Some graves we can repair.

We can apologize to.

We can visit.

We can remember.

Aww, MJ, the world did you dirty, man.

I'm thinking this is the world's collective "our bad" moment.

And it's good to know, even in these absurd times, that we can admit we were wrong.

A good, bad, man.

Hero.

Never the "e" word many wanted him to be.

🎵 You know I'm bad. 🎶

Sorry for ever doubting.

To BadMFs.

Keeping the good good.
