Eat Your Broccoli

The funny thing about the future.

Would you want to know if you could?

What happens in a week. In a month. In a year.

In a decade.

In a life.

I was always thinking ahead (if not always planning for it), until some ess happened that made me focus on immediacy. On survival. On now.

I still hold onto that feeling daily (gratitude), but I also am planning ahead again (the long game).

So some balancing is in order.

Cherish the day; plan for tomorrow (and beyond).

Sure, it's obvious.

But I used to take todays for granted.

I used to take right now for granted.

It'll be here.

It always has.

And so patience is a virtue, I hear.

Wait.

Bide your time.

Patience, contrary to what others think, is not inaction.

It only looks that way.

And looks can be very, very, fake. I think that's the term.

You might know me as a vibe guy.

Just chilling.

But, really, the eyes-closed monk sitting indian-style floating a foot off the ground is just an act.

In reality, I'm starfaring.

Touching quasars and being propelled through the universe by broccoli farts.

In other words,

Thankful.
