Wrote A Song About It, Like To Hear It? Here It Go
[Floats down to the ground.]
Oh, hello.
Didn't see you there.
Don't you have somewhere to be?
Today's lesson is a simple one.
Turn the faucet off.
What's the faucet?
To me, it just means all the content you consume.
Constant consumption makes you fat.
Physically and, especially, mentally.
And I think mental fat is the worst kind.
Morbidly (which I always found as a particularly harsh word) mentally obese.
How does one become this?
Consumption.
An all you can eat buffet for your brain.
And they don't kick you out if you stay too long.
They want you to stay too long.
However, unlike most buffets, they make MORE money, if you keep eating.
So, turn off the faucet.
Or at least, walk away from the table.
I would say touch grass but you might be allergic.
Touch grass.
But really, you could do the faucet off gimmick inside the home, too.
I dare you to try and sit in silence for an hour.
Half-hour.
Ten minutes.
Now, you might be already doing this, and if you are, well floating ovation for you.
But if we're being honest, you're probably at this point being fed through IV.
Constant injections of content.
And if you thought the average person's food intake was bad...
Woo boy.
Listen.
I got a meeting in the sky.
Starfaring sheet.
Gotta run fly.ย
He don't run.
Let your mind wander.
Let it find its own way.
What do you think about when there's nothing on except the lights in your brain?
Is it a flickering, dimly lit, basement?
Or you more a disco-ballin' club?
Or, maybe, you're in some field in Iowa, playing baseball with a bunch of ghosts.
I don't know.
I'm not you.
Thankful both ways.
Are the lights on?
Are you home?
It'll take some getting used to.
But let me tell you, it'll change your life.
You'll (re)start to notice so much.
And since your brain has eaten so much, it's time to get it out of you.
What have you got to say?
Words.
Spoken.
Typed.
Sang.
Danced.
Drawn.
Painted.
Filmed.
Photographed.
Will it be vomit, poo, or something a little more oh, I dunno, not gross?
I don't know.
But you sure look like your brain's about to explode.
๐ง ๐ฅ
Free your mind, as the great En Vogue used to say.
And the rest will follow.
Here it goes.
[Floats up.]
Is he wearing a jetpack?
Sweet.
Is he saying something?
๐ต Before you can read me, you got to learn how to see me. ๐ต
Oh, he's singing and dancing in the sky.
Sweet.
๐ต I said. ๐ตย
