We're Both Learning Together

Good people.

Yes, I'm talking to you.

You good?

It occurs to me, as such things do, that good people are too quiet.

Too hesitant.

To put their foots forward.

To raise their hands.

To say, "Hey, look at me."

It makes sense.

Humility.

Privacy.

Meek.

As a result of their silence, there's this sea of foot-forwarded, hand-raised, look-at-me jackarses.

Just an ocean of 'em.

An ocean!

An ocean of jackarses.

So much so that you start believing maybe that's all there is out there.

But I'm here to tell you something.

There's a lot more good out there than not.

I believe that.

Do you?

As a believer, as a father, I must.

The good far outnumber the others.

The good far outnumber the others.

The good far outnumber the others.

It just doesn't seem that way anytime you turn on your technology.

But I hope you see it every time you turn it off.

I went to a store opening the other day.

A fancy little fusion joint.

And it was a soft opening.

A bunch of young folk running around and messing up.

A dress rehearsal in front of a live studio audience.

So eager, optimistic, to get it right.

Nervous, hopeful, and trying.

Giving a darn.

Got an old(ish) man rooting for them.

And for a lot of you.

More than I sometimes think.

To the quiet good.

Get louder.

Thank you for giving a sheet.
