Unreasoned Within Reason
I want to teach you a new term.
Orthogonal bets.
Oar.
Thog.
Gonal.
Now, it may not be new to you, but if it is, it is.
Orthogonal is a fancy way to say 90 degrees.
Perpendicular.
Which is also fancy.
X goes up.
Y goes right.
Never the two shall cross.
I suppose they do at you, though.
You are the cross(roads).
I read it in two ways.
Maybe more.
One is if everybody zigging.
You zag.
And if all you do is zag.
Maybe somethings you zig.
You can call it a hedge, I suppose.
Hedge on your life.
If you're into that.
But I really think this is where the asymmetric stuff is.
The fun stuff.
If everyone is going one way.
Or if you are.
Maybe you go the other way.
You turn right.
Or left.
Not all the time, now.
Just to keep things interesting.
Keep things fresh.
If all you do is digital.
Be a little analog.
And versa vice.
All you do is highways.
Take the local route.
Like Bob Frost said.
Take the road less traveled.
Makes all the difference.
Start making orthogonal bets.
Don't make it the main thing.
Unless you want to.
Just enough to be unreasonable.
Within reason.
"Go that way really fast.
If something gets in your way, turn."
