Like Caine In Kung Fu

Words are important.

And as some of you may know, one of my favorite words is actualization.

I usually capitalize it.

Actualization.

It's a big word.

But it has BIG meaning.

Several, in fact, as the best words do.

The one I like best is that you take this idea and turn it into reality.

Through action.

What once wasn't real is now so.

Creating truth.

Of course, the best known definition is the process of achieving one's fullest potential.

Although we usually throw a "self" in front of it.

But I think actualization is more than just the self.

It's about going beyond self.

Sure, sure, be all that you can be.

Spend a whole life doing that.

But then what?

Then what?

And as selfish as I am, have been, will be, this is my life's mission.

"What happened here is a miracle. And I want you to bleepin' acknowledge it!"

To drop the self.

To then what.

I'm not saying I have achieved actualization.

"From here on in, consider my arse retired."

With or without the self.

"You read the Bible, Ringo?"

"Not regularly, no."

But I'm trying, Ringo.

I'm trying.

Real.

Hard.

Man, you haven't tried at all!

To be the shepherd.

Go.

"What is a miracle, Vincent?"

"Act of God."

"And what's an Act of God?"

"When, umm, God makes the impossible possible. But this morning, I don't think, qualifies."
