Like A Sumo
I'm getting kinda fat.
There I said it.
Dad bod.
My older (younger) body liked nay loved the iron.
This newer (oldish) body don't.
It just don't.
It likes aluminum.
Lined bags.
Filled with Doritos.
Awful.
Yummy.
Just awful.
The older, younger, body let me down.
Sure, it was fast(ish).
Strong(ish).
But it broke down.
Left me by the side of the road.
Almost totaled.
Almost.
Sure, it could lift more than 225 over my head for reps (seated military) but that strength means nothing if you deed.
If you deed.
Now I lift aluminum cans.
Much lighter weights.
More reps.
Counter to lips.
Over and over.
Not the healthiest way to do things.
It's just coke zero. No beers.
But I'm here to do things.
Not deed.
And the best part of having this new, old(ish), fattish body is that it comes with this brain, man.
This brain thinks differently.
These eyes see with different lenses.
And this heart feels fuller, somehow.
Maybe that's where all the muscle went.
So thankful.
So grateful.
So blessed.
To be getting fat.
Insane.
"Fat boy on a diet.
Don't try it."
