Good For Something

I gotta tell you.

This old(ish) curmudgeon gimmick is hard.

Putting on the grimaced furrow and constant outrage.

Because the truth is, I am pretty (and) happy.

And it's hard to be pretty (and) happy and still swing your fists at the sun.

I mean I do it, but it's hard.

Middle-aged and crazy.

I got the whole world figured out, you know.

And my conclusion is:

I choose not to run!

Now, if you're one of those "change the world" types, you might view this as a weakness.

And that's fine.

That's fine.

Believe what you want.

Believe to achieve!

I gave up caring when I starting writing musings columns on the internet.

And I started that a long, long time ago.

In this galaxy.

But it still feels far away.

Although to be fair, I stopped for years at times because I did care.

For moments.

For seasons.

But alas, near death survival gives you something of a IDGAF attitude.

I call it gratitude.

I already sorta had that.

So it just stacked.

One on top of the other.

Stacking IDGAFs.

Highly recommend.

Within reason.

I always thought I was somewhat of a chaotic good lawyer, which, by definition, is probably not ideal.

Shoutout to my DND nerds.

It just sounds funny.

Chaotic good lawyer.

Makes me chuckle.

But if I'm honest, I'm probably neutral good.

A terrible name for a badarse alignment.

But it's what they call it.

I'm no longer practicing law, so I'm a neutral good something.

Just not sure what.

You know, we all shoot for great.

Strive for it, even.

But good's better.

Always has been, always will be.

Good's best.

My goodness.

Because you see, they're not on the same scale.

At least, not the way I see it.

Good isn't below great because they're not measuring the same thing.

I'm talking alignment good.

Not Jim Collins good.

Great to Good.
