On A Bull Named Fu Manchu
I'm slowly catching up to the news I missed.
And wowzers.
Lot going on out there.
Of course, I haven't really checked much of the news.
I just know that by saying wowzers and lot going on out there, it makes it seem so.
Instead, I'm grinding.
Trying to heal.
To pass the time without wasting it.
Anymore than I have.
Anymore than I already have.
One of my very best friends and people I'd ever known was quite a bit older than me.
And he'd spend all day bragging about his family.
Just how much he loved them.
How accomplished they were.
How beautiful, how handsome, how intelligent.
Now, we worked at a gym at the time, and he was technically my boss, but we still give him a lot of sheet for it.
He sadly passed far too soon.
But he's one of my favorite people who ever walked the earth.
Just a genuinely happy, decent, good man.
Who loved his family.
A little too much.
And I think, I think, that's the sweet spot.
We used to go shopping to get supplies and he'd stop me in the entry way. Right after you walk in but before the 2nd set of doors to actually be inside the store.
He'd pause.
Say hold on.
Then he'd start giggling.
And I smelled it.
Sometimes, he'd just start giggling in his truck, on our many road trips.
And I knew what that meant.
My Lord, do I miss that man.
