Exceptions and Rules

If you had to pick.

Do you pick syllables or letter count?

What the?

I'm serious.

In a word.

Or a name.

What's more important?

Less syllables or less letters?

I like a many syllable many letter word now and again.

But I am growing to appreciate two syllable words.

Or even phrases.

Two syllable phrases.

Bang bang!

I was an English major, but I couldn't really tell you what an adjective is.

I just know.

I will say, one syllable is too few.

Right?

No.

One letter, also.

Gotta have more.

But not too much.

One of my favorite words has six syllables!

Thirteen letters.

A big word.

Bigger meaning.

I couldn't tell you what an adjective is.

But I could talk for hours about syllables and letter counts.

Two syllables. Maybe three.

Character count don't really matter.

In this case.

Only this case.

Of course, some of the most important words have one syllable...

Oh, God...

Right.

Like God.
