Have I been absurd enough lately?

This is an important question to ask.

So I'm asking:

Have you been absurd enough lately?

Absurd is a word I like to throw around this musings column.

But what does it mean?

Wildly unreasonable, illogical, or inappropriate.

Wildly is a fantastic word.

Anyone described as "wildly" well that gets my shaka sign. 🤙

And let me ask you something.

Where does being reasonable, logical, and appropriate get you?

A whole stanky pile of normal.

And we don't do normal here (or stanky).

Have I told you I get emails from people?

I suppose that isn't out of the ordinary.

But a lot of the real ones seem a bit mysterious.

Some share their life story.

Some share a sentence.

Or maybe just a word.

I haven't written a single stranger back.

And I suppose I should.

But I don't know what to tell them.

And I don't know who's real and who's just pretending.

I'm just a guy floating in mid-air.

Tongue out.

Like MJ in the late 80s.

I'm not MJ in the late 90s.

Yet.

But I'm getting there.

I worry about his red eyes, though.

Have for a while now.

Em Jay you ok?

He don't respond to my emails anymore either.

But I never wrote him.

How do I expect a response to emails I never sent?

I want to thank every real person who has ever written me to share their story.

I would also like to thank (to a lesser degree) every real person who has written me but have done so in a way that leaves more questions than answers.

And thank you to those who take the time to read the mind of an absurd guy who got to live an absurd life.

I get all your unsent emails.

Now go out there and work on your curly, steaming, stack of absurdity.

Make that sheet wild.
