A Whisper

I remember a comedian doing stand-up.

Talking about applying for jobs.

Living in a rough neighborhood.

And how tough it is to find employment where he lives.

Finally, he lands an interview. For a restaurant position.

Sharing that he knew it was a bad idea when, in the middle of it, the interviewer looked him up and down and asked him, deadpan:

"Can you fight?"

Well, can you?

I haven't thought about that bit in a long arse time.

Still makes me chuckle.

It just popped into my head when I sat down here.

So here's another question.

More germane to the world.

Will you fight?

And when?

Are you doing it now?

Will you do it when a line is crossed?

And where is that line?

There's nothing sadder to me than watching a bully hitting an innocent, and that innocent laughs it off or pretends nothing's happening as the bully continues to strike.

Ever see that?

It's a sad thing to see.

99% of your anger is focused rightfully on the bully.

You dirty...

But there's 1%, 1% max, directed at the innocent.

What are you doing? Have you no backbone?! C'mon! FIGHT BACK!!!

Now, this is all theoretical, because, as you know, I am a old(ish) man of peace.

Peace.

Love.

💛

All that jazz.

That's me.

Yeah right.

It is!

I think.

🤷‍♂️

Me no know anymore.

What are we talking about here?

And what's it sound like?
